PRESS RELEASE.
Fabienne Racing has taken note of the free practice figures from Austin: 207 lap times deleted for track limits, spread across 23 drivers. The team, which follows the championship from its gazebo in Philippeville, Belgium, wishes to commend the discipline of Valtteri Bottas at Cadillac, who committed a single offence over the two sessions, in second practice.
“Only one. That’s management,” says the team principal. “Along with Esteban Ocon, he is the only one, among those who ran both times, to have finished a session without losing anything. That is exactly the philosophy of our programme: we waste nothing. Not a lap time, not a tyre, not a sausage.”
The team also notes the twenty deleted times of Alex Albon (Williams) and the eighteen of Lando Norris (McLaren). Fabienne Racing makes no comment: it’s a Friday, people are trying things, and every driver is somebody’s Florian.
For Sunday, the regulations provide for a black and white flag after three track-limits violations, and a possible five-second penalty for a fourth. “We briefed Florian remotely,” says the team principal. “He knows the white line. He always has. He is ready.”
The team points out that at the Austrian Grand Prix in 2023, more than 1,200 infractions were recorded in the race, and remains open to discussions with any team looking for a driver mindful of his limits, available at ninety-nine per cent from Monday.
