Fabienne Racing has taken note of Christian Horner’s comments to The Times, in which he says he no longer wants to return to Formula 1 as a mere employee after twenty years at the helm of Red Bull, from 2005 to 2025. The team boss, removed in July, now wants shareholder status, with one exception: Ferrari, which he calls the sport’s “sleeping giant”.
“I’ve been an employee. I spent 21 years on the pit wall. I don’t need to do that again,” said Christian Horner, whose name has also been linked to Alpine, Aston Martin and a proposed twelfth team with Chinese manufacturer BYD.
At Fabienne Racing, nobody is an employee. I’m a shareholder, sporting director and press officer, and Florian drives. The team settled that question before Mr Horner did.
The Philippeville-based team confirms it remains open to discussions with any outfit evaluating its options, preferably on a Sunday, before Mariembourg, the circuit.
