PRESS RELEASE.
Fabienne Racing has taken note, in the Belgian daily DH, of Thierry Neuville’s announcement: the 2024 world champion will do fewer WRC rounds in 2027 and will not contest the full season. The team welcomes a clear message, delivered early, with the reason given by the driver himself: “I need to take a bit of pressure off.”
“Letting the pressure out, at our place, is a tyre matter,” says the team principal. “But we respect the approach. A driver who manages his programme is a team that thinks long term.” The driver wants to stay with Hyundai and hopes the manufacturer will remain in the world rally championship until 2029. Fabienne Racing, which also has a three-year plan, known as “the programme”, recognises itself in that vision.
The team notes that no exact programme is yet known for 2027 and that the Nürburgring 24 Hours is under consideration, depending on the diary. “We don’t know our exact calendar either,” the team principal admits. “It depends on Monday, when our title partner is closed.”
Fabienne Racing states that it is starting no rumours about vacated events. Florian drives a Rotax kart and does not rally. He is ready anyway. He always has been.
A partial programme announced in October. Noted. Nothing further to report.
