The news that runs a little wide

Horner says it all comes down to the edit: post 14 is still waiting for its episode

Christian Horner said in an Autosport interview, picked up by Formule1.nl, that Drive to Survive made the name of Günther Steiner, the former Haas team principal. In his view, the edit can portray someone “as a villain or as a hero”.

End-of-day report. Marshals’ post 14. Monday.

Subject: an interview with Christian Horner in Autosport, read on Formule1.nl, from the camping chair, thermos open.

Observation. The former Red Bull boss teased Günther Steiner, who ran Haas from 2014 to 2023. In his view, Steiner’s fame comes mostly from the series Drive to Survive. In his view again, Steiner has never taken a podium in Formula 1. Haas finished fifth in the constructors’ championship in 2018. That is its best result. I note both. I don’t judge.

Quote taken down, translated. “These people make a television programme; they gather hours and hours of footage, and it all depends on how you cut it together.” Then: “You can portray someone as a villain or as a hero.”

Action taken at the post. I did the count. Thirty years at 14. Hours and hours of footage, indeed. Television sees the post. In the edit, they keep the car and cut the flag. Neither the villain’s role nor the hero’s. Cut. The double yellow does not make the broadcast. It is respected all the same.

Horner also grants Steiner a strong personality, which brought a new audience to Formula 1. The new audience has not seen me yet. It knows the heated room from the series. It takes twenty minutes, but with music.

Fabienne Racing makes hours and hours of gazebo footage available to any platform. Edit at will.

Fabienne · the team principal, fictional character

Jean-Luc, my reserve, asks whether he will be in the episode. I told him the edit decides. Post 14, received. Nothing further to report.

It’s true, we checked: Formule1.nl.

  • Funniness 4/5

  • Voice 5/5
  • Retweet 4/5
  • Good nature 5/5
