Fabienne Racing has taken note of Lewis Hamilton’s comments, in which he says a top-three finish in the Formula 1 World Championship “would be a huge result” for Ferrari this season. The seven-time world champion trails the championship leader by 101 points, having lost around 40 points over the last two races alone.
“We understand this philosophy perfectly,” says the team principal. “At Fabienne Racing, a huge result is finishing the race. A result, full stop, is arriving with the four tyres we loaded up with. Top three, for us, mostly depends on how many cars turn up.”
The Philippeville-based team points out that Ferrari went without a win in 2025, before the SF-26 let Hamilton and Charles Leclerc win one race each this season, with a more powerful engine and parts revised throughout the Grands Prix. “We also upgrade our equipment during the season,” the team principal adds. “The brother-in-law’s garage changed the pads in July.”
“A 101-point deficit, in theory, you can claw that back by optimising every stint. In real life, there’s a rival on the other side of the garage going just as quickly. That’s the variable nobody models.”
Fabienne Racing confirms that Florian, its driver, is also targeting a top-three finish this Sunday at Mariembourg, matching the Scuderia’s ambition.
