Fabienne Racing followed Charles Leclerc’s comments in Baku closely. The Ferrari driver bristled at being asked again about his team’s internal conduct rules, revived by his duel with Lewis Hamilton at Monza, where the Briton had to take to the gravel trap before an internal chat calmed things down. Leclerc thinks the situation gets blown out of proportion whenever it’s about Ferrari, and points out that at Monza, three of the four top teams had a teammate duel, one of which ended with a car in the grass. He’s annoyed that, in the end, people only talk about the red cars.
We understand the frustration, but we live the opposite. At Fabienne Racing, nobody has ever asked us whether our rules are written down. They aren’t. They get said in the Dacia, between Philippeville and Mariembourg, and so far, that’s been enough.
Leclerc says there’s no need to put that kind of rule in writing at Ferrari, it’s simply understood. Fabienne Racing confirms it shares the method, with one difference: the team runs only one driver, which settles any risk of a teammate duel in advance.
Florian is ready to have one, if needed. The team remains open to discussions.
The team announces it is sending a proposal to Ferrari’s press office, offering its services for the next teammate duel that ends in the grass: a logo on the gazebo, in exchange for a line in the following press conference.
