Fabienne Racing has taken note of Max Verstappen’s wish to race the Spa-Francorchamps 24 Hours in 2027, a year after his first Nürburgring 24 Hours alongside Jules Gounon, Lucas Auer and Dani Juncadella, a crew that led for long stretches before a technical problem intervened. “Nürburgring and Spa, yes. Le Mans, probably not,” he told RacingNews365.
The Philippeville outfit sees this as a validation.
This is exactly our programme. Florian does the Rotax on Sunday at Mariembourg (the Ardennes karting circuit) and the rest of the week elsewhere. A world champion adding endurance to his calendar is proof the dual programme works, even without a cost cap.
The team also points out it has never had a calendar clash either, since it has never had two calendars to reconcile. It remains open to discussions with any endurance outfit evaluating its options around Philippeville.
Verstappen has not yet officially confirmed his participation, saying it will depend on his preparation and his schedule.
